Robert Kwon, MD
Robert S. Kwon, MD is a board certified specialist in Radiation Oncology and served as Assistant Clinical Professor at UCLA at Los Alamitos Medical Center in Los Alamitos, California (2015-2020). He served as the Medical Director of the TotalCare Cancer Center/Dept of Radiation Oncology at Los Alamitos Medical Center from 2004-2020.
Dr. Kwon’s specialty and technical expertise include Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT), Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), Image-guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), Gamma Knife Stereotactic Radiosurgery, Intensity Modulated Radiosurgery (IMRS), Real Time Permanent Seed Prostate Brachytherapy Implant, High Dose Rate (HDR) Temporary Interstitial/Intracavitary Brachytherapy Implant, Systemic Targeted Radionuclide Therapy (STaRT) including radioactive iodine ablation for thyroid cancer, SpaceOAR, and MammoSite and Savi Breast Brachytherapy.
His areas of clinical expertise include the treatment of breast, prostate, lung, central nervous system, lymphomas, gastrointestinal, gynecologic, thyroid, skin, head & neck and recurrent/metastatic cancers.
Presently, Dr. Kwon works at the VA Long Beach Healthcare System/Dept of Radiation Oncology in Long Beach, California.
