Ruth Winter, PhD

German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ)
Heidelberg, Baden-Wurt

I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Translational Radiotheranostics (E270) group led by Martina Benešová-Schäfer at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg, Germany. I completed my PhD (magna cum laude) in December 2025, investigating DNA damage and repair induced by a- and ß?-emitting radionuclides in Targeted Radionuclide Therapy (TRT). Trained as a physicist with strong expertise in radiation biology, I am particularly drawn to the interdisciplinary nature of TRT and collaborations across physics, biology, chemistry, and medicine. I am a member of the Early Career Researchers Network of the RadioBiology of Targeted Radionuclide Therapy European Working Group and am seeking postdoctoral opportunities in Denmark, Sweden, or the Netherlands.
