EDU 19 - Contemporary Multi-Disciplinary Management of Bladder Cancer

10:45am - 12:00pm PT

MODERATOR(S)

Omar Mian, MD, PhD - Cleveland Clinic Foundation

session DESCRIPTION

The management of bladder cancer is evolving across the spectrum of disease and stage and an educational session would be valuable to the ASTRO membership. This session will address the role of radiation therapy in the context of emerging systemic therapy paradigms, immunobiologics and a growing emphasis on organ preservation strategies. In addition appropriate post operative management and care for patients with oligometastatic disease needs to be addressed. The session will touch on molecular subtypes and functional/MRI imaging. Ideal panel representation would include Rad Onc, Med Onc, Urology, Pathology and Radiology experts.

learning objectives

  1. Describe the contemporary management of patients with muscle invasive bladder cancer in a multidisciplinary setting.
  2. Understand the role of molecular subtyping, MRI, emerging systemic therapy including immunobiologics in the management of localized and advanced bladder cancer.
  3. Describe the role of adjuvant radiation and systemic therapy in the management of post cystectomy patients.
