session DESCRIPTION
Stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) has become an established option for localized prostate cancer, offering convenience and excellent disease control. This session will begin with a concise review of current patient selection criteria and standard dosing strategies based on completed clinical trials, then move into cutting-edge refinements shaping the next generation of SBRT practice. Topics include optimizing dominant intraprostatic lesion (DIL) boosting for improved local control, strategies to minimize genitourinary toxicity, and emerging evidence for ultra-hypofractionated approaches of less than 5 fractions. We will also explore integration with whole-pelvic radiotherapy, treatment of higher risk disease and innovative techniques such as virtual HDR brachytherapy boosting regimens. Attendees will gain practical insights into tailoring SBRT for diverse clinical scenarios, leveraging advanced imaging and planning to enhance outcomes while maintaining safety. Join us to learn how SBRT 2.0 is redefining precision prostate cancer care.
learning objectives
- Improved Clinical Decision Making: Participants will demonstrate enhanced ability to select appropriate candidates for prostate SBRT based on current evidence and evolving indications.
- Integration of Advanced Techniques: Attendees will understand how to incorporate refinements such as DIL boosting, virtual HDR brachytherapy boosts, and whole-pelvic RT integration into practice.
- Toxicity Reduction Strategies: Clinicians will be equipped with practical approaches to minimize genitourinary toxicity while maintaining oncologic efficacy in ultra-hypofractionated regimens.
