Dr. Soha Ahmed Salem is an internationally trained Radiation Oncologist and Professor of Clinical Oncology at Suez University, Egypt, with more than two decades of experience in advanced radiotherapy, pediatric oncology, proton therapy, and global cancer capacity building. She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University and obtained both her Master’s and Medical Doctorate in Radiation Oncology from the National Cancer Institute, Cairo University. She also holds an international MBA in Hospital Management (2022). Dr. Salem served as a consultant in the Radiotherapy Department at Children’s Cancer Hospital Egypt from 2008 to 2020. She completed multiple prestigious international fellowships, including fellowship at Mount Vernon Hospital, London, University of California, San Francisco; a fellowship at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in 2018; and post-doctoral Harvard fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in 2019, representing her second long-term fellowship in proton therapy. She is currently a RO in the Human Health Division of the IAEA. Dr. Salem is PI of two international IAEA clinical trials, including the IAEA-SFRT Coordinated Research Project, and led the development of the first CT-based prostate cancer treatment guidelines with AI verification. Dr Salem is leader in Health Economic research and sharing the development of the IAEA Bankable documents for more than 8 countries. She served for more than 9 imPACT IAEA missions. She represents the IAEA in radiotherapy across more than 60 national and regional oncology projects spanning Africa, Arab countries, and Asia.
