Tamim Niazi, MD
Dr. Tamim Niazi received his Doctor of Medicine and Master of Surgery (MDCM) designation from McGill University in 2001. He continued his internship and residency at the McGill University Health Centre. During 2006 - 2007, he was the Clinical Trials Fellow at the National Cancer Institute of Canada Clinical Trials Group (NCIC-CTG).
He is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Oncology, McGill University. His clinical expertise include GU malignancies, mainly prostate cancer. His academic interests include combining new systemic therapies with SBRT and radiation related biomarkers in prostate cancer. To this end, he has designed and conducted numerous national Phase II and Phase III clinical trials. In addition, Dr. Niazi is the chair of Quebec GU Radiation Oncology group (GROU-Q) and co-chair of the GU Radiation Oncology Group of Canada (GUROC). He is an executive member of the clinical trials committee (CTC) at the NCIC-CTG, and the Radiation Oncology co-chair of the GU committee. He is also an executive member of Radiation Oncology Quality Assurance Committee at the NCIC-CTG, and an executive member of the Canadian Uro-Oncology Groups (CUOG). Locally, Dr. Niazi is the academic co-chair of the Division of Radiation Oncology at the Jewish General Hospital (JGH).
