Tyler Seibert is an Assistant Professor at the University of California San Diego in the Departments of Radiation Medicine, Bioengineering, and Radiology. He earned a BS in Bioengineering at the University of California Berkeley before joining the Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of California San Diego, where he earned an MD and a PhD in Bioengineering, with a focus on quantitative imaging. He completed residency in Radiation Oncology at the University of California San Diego and is board certified by the American Board of Radiology. Clinically, he cares for patients with aggressive localized or metastatic prostate cancer.
Dr. Seibert is a clinical translational scientist and leads a research team focused on tackling real-world clinical problems through engineering approaches. His laboratory efforts center on two fronts: (1) developing advanced quantitative imaging biomarkers for prostate cancer (with applications to detection of aggressive disease, precision radiotherapy, and assessment of treatment response); (2) developing predictive genetic risk models to guide clinical decision-making for prostate cancer. Dr. Seibert’s lab participates in the UC San Diego Center for Multimodal Imaging and Genetics, a dynamic, interdisciplinary group of engineers, clinicians, and physicists.
