Dr. Chen is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Stanford University, where she works with Prof. Lei Xing on multimodal medical foundation models that unify medical understanding, reasoning, and generation. She received her PhD in Electrical Engineering from the City University of Hong Kong under the supervision of Prof. Yixuan Yuan, and Prof. W. S. Tommy Chow. During her doctoral studies, her research focused on medical image synthesis, multimodal alignment, multimodal large language models, and multi-agent systems. She also conducted research at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School with Prof. Xiang Li and Prof. Quanzheng Li, developing multimodal large language models for medical image synthesis and report generation. Prior to her doctoral studies, she earned her BEng and MEng degrees from Shenzhen University under the supervision of Prof. Linlin Shen, where she established her foundation in generative modeling through research on facial image synthesis. She subsequently completed a research internship at Tencent Jarvis Lab with Dr. Shuang Yu and Prof. Yefeng Zheng, focusing on topology-aware generative adversarial networks for retinal vessel segmentation and classification. Her broader research interests lie in biomedical artificial intelligence, particularly medical imaging, vision-language models, multimodal large language models, generative AI, and multi-agent systems.
