William is a third-year medical student at the University of British Columbia (UBC). He holds a Bachelor of Science with double major in Immunology & Health and Disease from the University of Toronto. He has a passion for pursuing a career in the field of radiation oncology with a special interest in cancers of the central nervous system. Currently, he is involved with a research group located at the BC Cancer Agency in Vancouver investigating population-based outcomes of patients with brain metastases treated with radiotherapy under the supervision of Dr. Justin Oh, a radiation oncologist. To support his research funding, he has won various awards, such as the Summer Student Research Program award given by the UBC Faculty of Medicine. His research focuses on examining the incidence and risk factors of brain hemorrhage following radiotherapy, and examining the outcomes of patients with melanoma brain metastases treated with radiotherapy and immune checkpoint inhibitors.
