Yildiz Yukselen Guney, MD, PhD, is a professor of radiation oncology and serves as the educational and administrative chief of the department of radiation oncology at Ankara Etlik City Hospital in Ankara, Turkey. She received her medical degree from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1992 and completed her radiation oncology residency at Dr. Abdurrahman Yurtaslan Ankara Oncology Education and Research Hospital in 1996. She also completed a PhD in cancer biochemistry during her residency training. Dr. Yukselen Guney became an associate professor of radiation oncology at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 2008 and was appointed professor of radiation oncology in 2013. In addition to patient care, Dr. Yukselen Guney has been actively involved in academic work, resident education, professional training, and departmental leadership throughout her career. Her clinical and academic interests include a wide range of cancer types, primarily neuro-oncology. She has also contributed to the multidisciplinary development of neuro-oncology in Turkey, including through her previous service as president of the Turkish Neuro-Oncology Society. She continues to support resident and early-career specialist education through her roles in the Turkish Society of Radiation Oncology, including mentorship activities and participation in working groups for young radiation oncologists.
