Yuting Lin, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Division of Medical Physics and Engineering at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Before joining UT Southwestern, she served as Associate Professor and Director of Proton Physics at the University of Kansas Medical Center, where she led the commissioning of its single-room proton therapy center, which began treating patients in May 2022. Dr. Lin earned her bachelor’s degree in plasma physics from the University of Science and Technology of China and her Ph.D. in physics from the University of California, Irvine. She completed her medical physics residency at Harvard Medical School and became board-certified by the American Board of Radiology in 2017. She previously held faculty positions at Duke University Medical Center and Emory University. Dr. Lin specializes in proton therapy, spatially fractionated radiation therapy, FLASH ultra-high dose rate radiation therapy, biological modeling in radiation therapy, and treatment outcome prediction. Her work spans clinical program development, experimental implementation, treatment planning optimization, dose calculation, and dosimetry, with a particular interest in proton minibeam therapy. She also contributes to clinical physics practice and education through professional committees, working groups, and mentorship.
