Zachary Morris, MD/PhD is the Paul Harari Endowed Professor and Chair of the Department of Radiation Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He completed undergraduate studies at Ripon College and two Masters Degrees as a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University. He subsequently obtained his MD and PhD from Harvard Medical School. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Hawaii and residency in Radiation Oncology at the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Morris joined the faculty at the University of Wisconsin in 2016 as a physician-scientist. Clinically he specializes in the treatment of patients with melanoma and sarcomas and he serves as PI for multiple early phase clinical trials. His translational research laboratory examines the immuno-radiobiology of diverse radiotherapies and treatment approaches that combine radiation and targeted therapies to drive anti-tumor immunity. He was a 2017 recipient of the NIH Director’s Early Independence Award and a co-PI on an NIH Cancer Moonshot Initiative U01 grant. Dr. Morris co-led a team in the successful application for a NIH P01 program project grant and leads a project on the University of Wisconsin Head and Neck SPORE grant. Dr. Morris also currently serves as a Lieutenant Colonel in the 115th Fighter Wing of the Wisconsin Air National Guard.
