Casey Hokanson is a 4th-year medical student at the University of Minnesota Medical School who is excited to apply for radiation oncology residency during this application cycle. With a background of pediatric-focused research, he is passionate about continuing research to improve cancer outcomes for this very special patient population. Since discovering the field of radiation oncology, Casey has initiated multiple specialty-specific research projects, dedicated his summer to rotating at radiation oncology departments across the country, and presented his work at local and national oncology conferences. Most recently, at the University of Minnesota Neuro-Oncology Innovation Challenge, his team won first place for their proposed Phase I/II glioblastoma therapy innovation. Casey looks forward to connecting with fellow students, residents, residency programs, and mentors at ASTRO 2026.
