Dima received her Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Nuclear Engineering from the University of Aleppo in Syria. Following graduation, she pursued her interest in the medical applications of nuclear engineering through training at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) and the European School of Medical Physics (ESMP) in Switzerland and France. She subsequently completed internships in Nuclear Medicine at Friedrich-Alexander University Hospital in Erlangen, Germany, and in Radiation Oncology at University Medical Center Mannheim, Germany.
Dima earned her Master of Science in Medical Physics from San Diego State University, conducting her graduate research at Moores Cancer Center at the University of California, San Diego. She then completed her Radiation Oncology Medical Physics Residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC) and joined the medical physics faculty following graduation.
She is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Her clinical and research interests include stereotactic radiosurgery for cerebral and spinal arteriovenous malformations, intracavitary/interstitial brachytherapy for locally advanced cervical cancer, and the application of artificial intelligence in radiation oncology. Her work focuses on advancing treatment precision, developing clinically practical decision-support tools, and improving the safety and consistency of complex radiation therapy.
