Fernanda Rivera Sánchez, MD, is a Mexican physician and graduate of Universidad Veracruzana. She is currently a third-year resident in Radiation Oncology at Centro Médico Nacional de Occidente, Jalisco, Mexico, one of the leading radiotherapy training centers in Mexico.
Her clinical and academic interests focus on genitourinary malignancies and central nervous system tumors, with additional dedication to Global Oncology, gender representation in oncology, and the promotion of diversity within academic medicine. She is deeply passionate about clinical research and international collaboration, particularly in advancing opportunities for young investigators in radiation oncology.
Dr. Rivera Sánchez is the first Radiation Oncology resident in Mexico to receive the prestigious International Development and Education Award 2025, recognizing her commitment to research, leadership, and global engagement in oncology.
