session DESCRIPTION

This educational activity is directed towards ASTRO attendees. Dinner will be provided. For more information, please visit www.astro.org/ISS.

learning objectives

  1. Understand the differences between EBRT and RPT in terms of dose delivery mechanism, dose rate and distribution, and biological effect.

  2. Explore why EBRT toxicity thresholds may not be directly applicable to RPT and evaluate the 23 Gy kidney dose threshold across both modalities.

  3. Understand the clinical significance of inter-patient dosimetry variability.

  4. Compare 2D versus 2D/3D hybrid dosimetry and STP versus multi-timepoint approaches, including the associated accuracy, resource, and workflow needs.

  5. Explore data gaps and standardization needs and discuss how a multidisciplinary approach may advance this real-world clinical practice.
