I have received my MD/PhD from the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany. After that I completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Duke University in Michael Kastan's lab studying molecular responses to DNA double-strand breaks. Then I finished an Internship in Medicine at Duke and a clinical Residency in Radiation Oncology at Washington University in St. Louis. I have joined the faculty at Johns Hopkins University in 2022 where I continue my work as a physician-scientist treating patients with genitourinary malignancies and investigating the role of epigenetic signaling pathways in DNA damage response in pediatric and adult brain tumors and HPV-induced cancers.
