Prajnan Das, MD, MS, FASTRO
Dr. Prajnan Das is the Section Chief of GI Radiation Oncology and Deputy Department Chair for Education at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He graduated from Stanford University and Harvard Medical School. He then completed his residency at the Harvard Joint Center for Radiation Therapy and also completed an MPH degree from the Harvard School of Public Health. He has served on the faculty at MD Anderson Cancer Center since 2004, where his roles have included Quality Officer, and Residency and Fellowship Program Director. He is a nationally recognized expert on the treatment of gastrointestinal cancers, with over 190 peer reviewed publications. He is currently serving as Chair of the ASTRO Rectal Cancer Guidelines Panel, and Vice-Chair of the NCI Rectal-Anal Task Force. He was co-editor of the textbook, Radiation Therapy for Gastrointestinal Cancers, and serves as Executive Editor for the journal, Practical Radiation Oncology. Dr. Das has received many honors for his contributions to education, including the University of Texas Regents Outstanding Teaching Award, the William Randolph Hearst Foundations Faculty Achievement Award in Education, and induction into the University of Texas Shine Academy of Health Science Education.
