Rohan Patel, MD, MPH (pronouns: he/him/his) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Medical College of Wisconsin, with a secondary appointment in the Institute for Health and Humanities. His clinical interests include gastrointestinal malignancies and central nervous system tumors, and his academic work focuses on health equity, global oncology, and improving cancer care for structurally marginalized communities.
Raised in Illinois by first-generation immigrants from India and Fiji, Dr. Patel’s multicultural upbringing shaped his commitment to Asian and Pacific Islander advocacy, LGBTQIA2+ health equity, and mentorship for underrepresented trainees. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois Chicago, earned his Doctor of Medicine with a Global Health Focus from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine, and completed a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Global Health and Policy at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in May 2025.
Dr. Patel previously completed radiation oncology residency at Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center in Cleveland, OH, where he served as Chief Resident. At MCW, he is focused on building inclusive, community-engaged clinical, educational, and research programs that address disparities across the cancer care continuum, particularly for sexual and gender minority populations, Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities, and patients facing barriers to high-quality cancer care.
