Rong Zheng, MD, PhD

Dr. Zheng received her Ph.D. in Radiation Oncology in 2016 from Southern Medical University in Guangzhou, China, and completed her postdoctoral training in immunoradiotherapy and nanomedicine at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor from 2025 to 2026. Since 2016, she has been with the Department of Radiation Oncology at Fujian Medical University Union Hospital, where she serves as an Associate Professor and Associate Chief Physician. Dr. Zheng has achieved recognition for her clinical and translational research in radiation oncology. Her major research directions include the modulation of the tumor immune microenvironment in gastrointestinal cancers, the mechanisms and therapeutic strategies for radiation-induced brain injury, and the application of functionalized biomaterials for radiation injury repair. She is the principal investigator of multiple major research grants, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), and holds a national invention patent for predicting tumor radiosensitivity. Additionally, she serves as the Scientific Secretary for the Fujian Provincial Key Laboratory of Intelligent Imaging and Precision Radiotherapy and is a standing committee member of the CROC Radioimmunology Working Committee.
