Sympascho Young is a staff radiation oncologist at the Arthur JE Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre and assistant professor at the University of Calgary, specializing in H&N and GU. He recently completed his fellowship in precision/adaptive radiation oncology at UT Southwestern Medical Center, and completed his residency at Western University in Canada. He received his M.D. from the University of British Columbia and Hon.B.Sc. at the University of Toronto with a double-major in Biochemistry and Global Health. His research interests include theranostics, liquid biopsies, SABR, adaptive radiotherapy, and pragmatic clinical trial designs. He is currently co-leading the RT-NOW trial alongside Dr. David Palma, a pragmatic Phase II trial investigating upfront RT prior to biopsy for patients without an established pathologic diagnosis presenting with cancer emergencies that require urgent palliative radiation.
